Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson fires a Royal Artillery gun at Duddingston Golf Course in Edinburgh to mark the start of a charity outing aimed at raising funds for the armed forces.

Ms Davidson helped launch the annual event staged by ABF The Soldiers’ Charity yesterday, which it is hoped will generate a significant amount of money for soldiers north of the Border. Launched in 1944, the charity, formerly know as the Army Benevolent Fund, works to support personnel and veterans from the British Army and their families when they are in need.
