The family that has owned Scotland’s oldest art store for nearly 200 years is seeking a saviour for the business after it went into administra­tion. The Miller family, of Miller’s Art Shop, says competitio­n and the taxman have made it impossible to continue to own and run the firm, founded in Glasgow in 1834. The shop, the oldest continuous­ly trading in the city centre, remains open. But it has lost its 179-year-long link to the family of founder Robert Miller. The family has issued a statement to let customers know the shop’s fate. 10 YEARS AGO
