The family that has owned Scotland’s oldest art store for nearly 200 years is seeking a saviour for the business after it went into administration. The Miller family, of Miller’s Art Shop, says competition and the taxman have made it impossible to continue to own and run the firm, founded in Glasgow in 1834. The shop, the oldest continuously trading in the city centre, remains open. But it has lost its 179-year-long link to the family of founder Robert Miller. The family has issued a statement to let customers know the shop’s fate. 10 YEARS AGO
