Wood’s Xmas present ... all his gear back
CHRISTMAS has come early for seasonal superstar Roy Wood – famed for his song I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday – after all of his stolen instruments were found undamaged.
Police recovered the stolen truck on Thursday night and officers yesterday handed it back to members of Wood’s band, who miraculously found nothing was missing.
The musician is set to be reunited with his “priceless” electric guitars dating back 50 years and personalised amplifiers before his group’s next concert on Thursday.
The truck is back in the hands of sound engineer Bob Collinson, who is part of Wood’s touring party and was storing the truck in his warehouse at the time of the robbery.
Mr Collinson said: “We got the truck back today and incredibly there is nothing missing, we’re over the moon. Roy had some really special guitars in there and would have been devastated to see them stolen for good.”
