Rapist jailed for six years

A FORMER airport boss was yesterday jailed for six years for raping a 51-yearold woman in his home.

Elliott Summers, 54, of Bellesleyhill Road, Ayr, was found guilty of the rape, which happened on July 15 last year.

Judge Lord Kinclaven told the first offender: “You have been found guilty of a serious sexual offence and there is no alternative to a custodial sentence.”

Summers worked at Prestwick Airport as general manager of air traffic control, but was recently working as a practice manager at a Glasgow GP surgery.
