Man, 53, killed crossing road

A 53-YEAR-OLD man has died after being hit by a car in Clydebank.

He was crossing the A82 Great Western Road near Dalnottar Cemetery at around 5.50am on Thursday when he was struck.

Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman driving the car was not injured but was said by police to be extremely shaken and was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
