Ameet Jogia, Chief of Staff, Lord Popat of Harrow
Starting as an intern and working his way up to Chief of Staff, Ameet is a talented and long-serving member of Lord Popat’s team.
Ameet helped set up the first International Women’s Day debate for nonParliamentarians in Parliament and worked tirelessly to put Africa on the Parliamentary agenda in the Lords, working with APPGs, embassies and other organisations to enhance Africa’s status. Passionate about outlawing discrimination, he also spurred Lord Popat to host a debate in Parliament focused on anti-Semitism. His work also actioned removal of the embargo on key medicines during the pandemic, a benefit to local pharmacies and subsequently the wider population.
Ameet has been invaluable in championing on behalf of under-represented groups within Parliament and advocating for issues that often fall between the cracks with MPs. Despite tragically losing both his parents to cancer and then welcoming a newborn, Ameet continued to work, reflecting his admirable dedication to democracy.
