North Dorset MP wins MS award
Simon Hoare, the Conservative MP for North Dorset, has been presented with an MS Society Impact Award for championing the rights of people living with multiple sclerosis. The MP, who was chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for MS from 2016 until this year, received the award at a virtual ceremony hosted by MS Society ambassador and radio DJ Scott Mills, whose mother is living with MS. Campaigning in Parliament and his constituency, Hoare has supported MS Society campaigns on access to treatments, better employment and improved neurology services. He said: “It’s a huge honour and I accept it very humbly on behalf of all my parliamentary colleagues who have worked to support the APPG for MS, my office staff and of course the amazing team at the MS Society who make it all work so seamlessly. “Hopefully we’ve made a difference and those of us in Parliament with an interest in MS will continue to make a difference.”
