Commons event celebrating female entrepreneurship
An event celebrating and supporting female entrepreneurs is due to take place at the
House of Commons on 16 November.
MP HERoes is a cross party programme that encourages female enterprise. It is run by Savvitas and Natwest, supported by the APPG on
Women and Enterprise and the Inclusive Entrepreneurship APPG.
As part of the scheme, women MPs are connected with a female business owner in their constituency. Together, they take part in local and parliamentary activities that inspire other women to start or develop their business. Organisers believe female entrepreneurship could add an extra £250bn to Gross Domestic Product.
Virginia Crosbie, Conservative MP for
Ynys Môn, will host two entrepreneurs from Anglesey – Janet Percival from Jaspels Cider and Stacey Chadfield from Emberwood Creative.
She said: “We’re seeing a growth in female enterprise and wider recognition of the boost they bring to the economy and the community.”
