MISSION TO NARS

Sarah Young takes a look at Nars Cosmetics’ new make-up collaboration with designer Erdem, called ‘Strange Flowers’

-

Nars Cosmetics has announced its latest make-up collaboration, with fashion designer Erdem Moralioglu.

Titled “Strange Flowers”, the limited-edition collection was unveiled during London Fashion Week at the designer’s autumn/winter 2018 show, held at the Tate Britain last Monday.

Here, make-up artist Val Garland used products from the highly-anticipated launch to create a series of looks inspired by Moralioglu’s memories of his mother wearing a saturated red lip, mixed with the poise of 1930s and 1940s aristocracy.

“We used products from the Erdem for Nars collection as they were created with this idea of strange flowers, which are beautifully complex and sometimes dangerous,” Moralioglu said. “The colours are bold yet demure, which worked perfectly for these looks.”

So, what exactly does the collection include?

Consisting of 13 pieces, the Erdem for Nars collection plays on the designer’s powerfully feminine aesthetic, with products for the cheeks, eyes and lips all housed in beautiful soft-touch floral packaging. Ranging in price from £15 for blotting papers to £35 for palettes, highlights of the collection include an iridescent highlighter pencil, eyeshadows in daring shades and a seriously impressive lip-powder palette designed to give you a perfectly matte pout.

The range will be available for purchase from 15 April at Selfridges, and in the rest of the UK from 1 May.
