Strike that could bring UK grinding to a halt

Borders and benefit payments set to be hit as 100,000 walk out

Britain faces severe disruption if planned public sector strikes go ahead this winter. Some 100,000 civil servants in the Public and Commercial Services union have voted to take action that could delay flights at airports and suspend benefit payments. It comes as ministers dismissed the Royal College of Nursing’s 17.6 per cent pay demand as excessive.
