Farrell names Ireland Six Nations squad
Robbie Henshaw and Joey Carbery have been left out of Ireland’s 37-man squad for the Six Nations but there is a place for uncapped Leinster back Jamie Osborne. Centre Henshaw has endured an injury-hit season and is currently sidelined with a wrist issue, while Ross Byrne and Jack Crowley have been selected ahead of Carbery as fly-half cover for captain Johnny Sexton.
Osborne, 21, is the only Test newcomer picked by Andy Farrell on the back of his standout performances for his province. Sexton, who underwent surgery after suffering a cheekbone
problem on New Year’s Day, and prop Tadhg Furlong (ankle and calf) are also among the 20 Leinster players called upon as they recover from injuries.
Ireland, who top the world rankings and won the Triple Crown last year, begin their campaign on 4 February against Wales in Cardiff. PA
Jevans appointed Wimbledon vice-chair
Debbie Jevans has been named vice-chair of the All England Club ahead of this year’s Wimbledon Championships. The 62year-old will succeed current chair Ian Hewitt at the end of July, following the tournament. Wimbledon’s two top jobs will then be held by women, after Sally Bolton became chief executive in 2020. A former tennis player, Jevans competed for Great Britain at the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open.
Hewitt said: “Debbie has a valuable combination of skills and experience gained over a long career in sport, both as a former professional tennis player and through a number of leadership roles within high-profile sports organisations, as well as her many years of service on the club committee. This equips her well for the role and I look forward, as planned, to handing over as chair after The Championships 2023 and wish Debbie all success as we continue with our ambitions.” PA

NFL confirms five teams for London and Germany games
The Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Titans will join the Jacksonville Jaguars in hosting NFL regular season games in London this year. The three teams have been confirmed for games in the capital next season, with the opponents and scheduling details to be announced in the coming months.
The Bills and Titans are making their second trips to London, having played there in 2015 and 2018 respectively, and will both play at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Jaguars return to Wembley, their home away from home, and will play a landmark 10th game in England as part of a multi-year commitment to play in the UK.
There will be two other international games held in Germany, with the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots hosting games after last year’s inaugural game there. PA
