ON Sunday March 17, you can give your hair and nails a treat, enjoy a head/ neck massage — and help support life-saving hospital treatment.

Pamela and Martin Gold are hosting a fundraising event at the MG Hairdressing salon in Stanmore, from 10am to 5pm, in support of the renal unit at Hammersmith Hospital.

The unit treated their son Nicholas when he developed amyloidosis – a rare blood disease.

Customers must give a minimum donation of £20 for hair, £10 for nails and £10 for head/neck massages — the donation also covers cakes and other refreshments.

Call 020 8954 0084 for an appointment.

Other fund-raising events at MG Hairdressing are planned for later in the year.

This year’s charity day at Kink Hair Salon in Daws Lane, Mill Hill, north west London, raised more than £8,000 for the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.

EastEnders actors Shane Richie and Rita Simons took part in the event and swapped their television soap roles for shampooing.

Other activities on the day included manicures, massages, karaoke, face painting, a raffle, an auction and a cake sale and bake-off.
