Gutmanputs Dragons in pole position

-

DIALOGZ DRAGONS climbed to the top of the Israel Night Cricket League following a hard-earned victory over Yagod Morris Cricket Club (YMCA).

Openers Simon Minitzer and Steven Shein put on a useful partnership of 40 before a mini-collapse in the middle of the innings which yielded 27 runs from eight overs.

Captain Herschel Gutman and Joseph Greenwall-Cohen helped the Dragons finish on 106. David Harris, who claimed three wickets, Joseph Neppe and Yonatan Karmi were the pick of the YMCA bowlers.

Saul Weitzman top-scored with 29 in the YMCA reply and although they stuttered through the middle overs, they required 18 runs from the last three overs. However, with a famous victory in sight, Gutman and Steve Shein combined to pick up five wickets as YMCB could only muster one run from their final 18 balls. Gutman, with four wickets including three in one over, and Minitzer, who claimed two victims, were the pick of the Dialogz bowlers.

Surprise package KAT Israemploy continued their surge up the table with back-to-back victories that puts them on course for a semi-final slot.

They claimed a last-ball win in a cliffhanger against YMCA. Daniel Finkelstein starred with the ball as YMCA were restricted to 72, leaving Keith Shaw and Daniel Lange to steer them home. This was followed by a 65-run win over Bet Shemesh Royals.
