It’s payback time, says Ullmann

- BY DAVID MORRIS

Alex Ullman says cabi 2nds will be out for revenge when they take on Manchester Maccabi 3rds in the Joan Collins Premier Division on Sunday.

Maccabi claimed the MJSL’s Charity Shield on a penalty shoot-out last month, but Ullman says his team will approach the match with confidence following their first win of the season. A strike from Colin Abrahams earned Leeds a 2-1 win against FC Cosmos.

Ullmann said: “Cosmos were unlucky to lose the way they did, but we dominated possession and the result was justified in the end.

“We look forward to our next game at home to Manchester Maccabi 2nds following a defeat on penalties in the Shield. Both clubs will be determined to take all three points home, so this may be one to watch.”

Maccabi Manchester 2nds overcame a resilient Heaton Park 3-1. The hosts had looked comfortable after quickfire strikes from Dan Margolis and Daniel Rubinstein, but a penalty from Jonathan Franks put Rovers back into the game. They pressed for an equaliser, but Jack Myers ended their hopes with a third for Manchester.

Maccabi boss Irving Modlin said: “We dominated the first half and scored two cracking goals. Heaton came back well in the second half but we finished it off.”

Moishe Hasid hit a late winner as Maccabi Manchester 3rd overcame Haroldeans.

Sam Myers (3), Daniel Warwick (2), Adam Green, Andy Shaffer and Jordan Gold inspired AFC Flixton Reserves to an 8-3 drubbing of South Manchester Sports 2nds.
