Kay lifts Raiders

A brilliant 88th minute free-kick from Jonny Kay helped star London Raiders maintain their 100 per cent record following a hard fought win over the London Maccabi Lions Blue in the MGBSFL.

SPEC FC remain top of Division One on goal difference after a twice-taken penalty saved them from defeat against Southgate Harmen. Lee Greenfield opened the scoring for Harmen and keeper Harry Fine appeared to have sealed the win with a crucial penalty save. However, the kick was ordered to be retaken due to encroachme­nt and James Lesner fired his shot into the top corner.

Harmen boss Samuel Castle said: “The ref cost us two points with a decision that you don’t see given in the Premier League.”

North West Neasden are also on seven points after strikes from Scott Kay, Dan Orgel and Michael Field earned them a 3-1 victory over Woodford Wanderers.

There is a three-way lead at the top of Division Two after Norstar London Raiders B, FC Team C and Redbridge B preserved their perfect records. Raiders edged past FC Team B 4-3 with strikes from Nicky Woolf (2), Gilad Kestenbaum and Andrew McMaster. James Joseph (3), David James Cohen (2) and Shim Bensoor helped FC Team C run out 6-3 victors over Athletic Bilbaum, while Sam Sollosi, Nathan Sollosi and Dan Wright were on the mark as Redbridge beat Oakwood B 3-2.

A hat-trick from Joel Isaacs and one from Gary Hill helped Catford & Bromley Maccabi maintain their excellent run record in Division Three with a 4-3 victory over King Crown.

Yaniv Salem earned AFC Flixton a 1-1 draw against Universal All-Stars in the Accountant­s League Division One.

Leeds Maccabi 1st tasted defeat for the first time this season as they slipped out of the District Cup at the first hurdle. Charles Myers and Tim Zoltie registered in the 7-2 mauling at the hands of Thorner FC.

Goals from Jordan Gold and Daniel Warwick kept at the top of the MJSL Joan Collins Premier Division following a 2-2 draw against Maccabi Manchester 3rd. Josh Gelman and Leo Berger replied.

It was a bad weekend all round for Leeds, with the 2nd team going down 7-2 against Maccabi Manchester 2nd. Jack Myers, Daniel Rubinstein and Jake Berger all found the net twice, with Dan Margolis completing the rout.
