GB will ‘attack’ Euros

TABLE TENNIS Adam Black insists Team Maccabi GB’s table tennis squad will go on the attack at this summer’s European Maccabi Games.

The delegation will compete in the Juniors, Open and Masters events in Berlin and features a healthy balance of big match experience and up-andcoming table tennis talent.

Delegation chair Adam Black will manage the group, with Alon Gordon acting as Junior Manager.

Black said: “It’s a privilege to take this squad to Berlin — a tournament steeped in history for these Jewish competitor­s.

“It will be great to see our nationally-ranked players stepping out on the internatio­nal stage after honing their talents in the British League and for their counties.

“I’m not sure if it’s hard work or just plain talent that is the hallmark of this squad.”

The delegation returned from the 2011 EMG in Vienna with nine medals, including gold in the Junior Single, Junior Doubles and overall Junior Team Gold.

Black, who will also be competing as a Masters athlete in Berlin, said: “We’re lucky in table tennis that players compete at the highest level in the UK and we’ve got talent in spades.

“There’s no doubt the competitio­n will be tough, but with so many new
