I write to reassure Yossi Schindler that our comment about Nazi sympathiser Tila Tequila, who was kicked out of the Big Brother house, was not issued on Shabbat as he claims ( Letters, Sept 11).

The quote that he refers to — “She should never have got anywhere near a programme on British television” — was issued to the Press Association on Friday afternoon before Shabbat and several hours before the decision was announced to remove her from the show.
