INITIAL DISMAY
I see with dismay that a synagogue has chosen to rename itself in initial letters. I find this deplorable. We communicate in our language with words, not initial letters. The latter excludes any outsiders. It might be too late to change the current thinking of one most honourable synagogue, but perhaps it ought to have a re-think, and if any others were considering a change, I hope that my point focuses a change of heart.
