Garbacz encouraged by early signs as Fehler fires

FOOTBALL DOVI Fehler made it six goals in two games as Hendon United Sports Club maintained their excellent start with a 6-0 victory over Camden Park.

A hat-trick hero against Faithfold on the opening weekend of the MGBSFL season, Fehler fired another treble in a win capped by further strikes from Yoav Kestenbaum, Ari Last and Greg Corin.

Hendon boss David Garbacz said: “We looked sharp in all positions but going forward is where it is particular­ly exciting this year. The signs are very encouragin­g.”

Redbridge Jewish Care A made an impressive start as they came from a goal down to overpower Harmen. James Gershfield put Harmen ahead but the east Londoners rallied superbly with strikes from Steve Summers, Darren Brown, Scott Oldstein and Daniel Garfinkle cementing a 4-1 success.

Harry Hatchwell, Connor Perlmutter, David Soutar and an own goal earned a new-look Maccabi London Lions A a 4-2 success over FC Team A.

FC Team B made a real statement of intent as Andy Sheena (3), Richard Salmon (2) and Jon Breger (2) registered in a 7-0 demolition of London Rovers in Division One.

Josh Dagul described his Brady Maccabi as “dominant”, as trebles from Josh Newman and Sam Monjack, along with one from Elliott Dagul, inspired them to a 7-2 mauling of Redbridge B. Josh Orgel and Carl Dobrin replied.

Two superb free-kicks from Sam Reeves earned Faithfold B a surprise victory over North London Raiders B. Dan Cohen added the gloss.

Joel Kutner, Adam Hersh and Tim Heynes earned Los Blancos their first point of the season following a six-goal thriller against Real Sosobad. Scott Jay, Elliot Coulton and Josh Jacobs replied.

A deadly double from Tom Alexander condemned SPEC FC to their second straight defeat as Woodford started with a win. Woodford joint-boss Daryl Kay commented: “It was a solid performanc­e and we controlled the game from start to finish.”

Scrabble extended their winning run with Josh Sheridan (2), Mitch Green and Jonathan Peters on target in a 4-1 victory over Boca Jewniors.

Adam Lenz fired a late winner as Temple Fortune came from two goals down to beat Catford & Bromley Maccabi. Fortune boss Jonathan Cohen said: “Catford will feel hard done by and I can understand that as our goals were scruffy, but a win is a win is a win.”

Josh Bloom, Ed Brafman, Sammy Kingston, Daniel Mattey and Dean Rosenthal were among the scorers as Lions B claimed a resounding 6-1 win over Athletic Bilbaum.

Lions boss Samuel Marchant said: “It was a perfect start to the season for us and we played some free-flowing football. We don’t expect to get results like that every week and I’m sure we will face tougher opposition as the season progresses.”

Alex Elf, Will Ufland and Nick Haringman guided Raiders C to a 3-2 success over Real Hendon. Dave Sherman (2), Leor Harel (2) and Dan Gordon were on the mark as Faithfold C ran out 5-0 winners against L’Equipe.
