FOOTBALL JON Jacobs described Sam Sollosi’s performance as on “another level” after Redbridge Jewish Care A progressed to the fourth round of the Peter Morrison Trophy with a 2-0 win over Premier Division rivals Harmen.

Reflecting on the performance of two-goal hero Sollosi, who regularly plays alongside his brothers, Ben and Nathan, Jacobs said: “His performance was just a joy to watch and on another level to the guys trying to either mark him or kick him.”

Harmen joint-manager Oli Leslie said: “Like last year, we have exited the cup due to injuries and suspensions — including James Gershfield, Elliott Stern, Daniel Green, Alex Levack, Jonny Haik, Oliver Sade, Ricky Rinder, George Fierstone, Marc Foster and Aviel Schwarz. That’s 10 players who would walk into most first teams in the Premier League.

“Redbridge are an organised team with an experienced spine through the middle of the pitch. They could win this trophy.”

A deadly double from Oscar Wagner helped North London Raiders A open an eight-point gap at the top of the MGBSFL Premier Division as they beat FC Team A for the second time in a week. David Dinkin and Nyv Bogaire sealed the win, with Richard Salmon on target for FC Team.

NLR boss Rob Richman commented: “There is still a long way to go and we know we will have to perform in all our remaining games if the hard work of the last six months is to be rewarded.”

Dovi Fehler (4) and Moses Seitler (3) inspired Hendon United Sports Club A to an 8-1 demolition of Camden Park. Zac Lewis completed the rout.

Hendon boss David Garbacz said: “Moses showed us what we’ve been missing this year with a classy display. He scored the first three goals of the game before handing over to Dovi for the icing on the cake.”

Ricky Lawrence and Dan Cohen registered to take SPEC FC to the top of first division with a 2-0 success over fellow high-flyers Brady Maccabi.

Player-manager Lawrence said: “It was a good, solid performance and we will enjoy being top of the league, even if other teams have quite a few games in hand.”

A solitary effort from Anthony Shaw guided Raiders B to their fourth win of the season at the expense of Real Sosobad.

Faithfold B clinched their second consecutive win to boost their chances of avoiding the drop. Craig Cole (2), Jamie Kent, Eli Leader and an own goal eased them to a 5-0 success over fellow strugglers Brixton.

Faithfold boss Rob Shooman said: “It was a good result, but I think we caught Brixton on an off-day. We put a few good passes together and took our chances.”

Raiders C’s promotion hopes were dealt a blow as strikes from Eddie Sternberg and another from Eitan Ben-Zion earned FC Team C a 2-0 victory in Division Two.

FC Team’s David Gordon described it as “our best performance of the season by some distance”.

Nick Shinder expressed frustration after were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against & Bromley. Bilbaum’s Jacob Brunner secured a point, cancelling out an own goal.

Shinder said: “We hit the frame of the goal four times and missed a penalty. We have to learn from this and be more clinical.”

Strikes from player-manager Jonathan Cohen and Lee Fegan helped Temple Fortune climb off the foot of the table at the expense of Boca Jewniors.
