FOOTBALL DAVID Garbacz believes Hendon United A “have put themselves in a nice position” following their 5-1 success over SPEC FC in the MGBSFL Premier Division.

Two goals from Ari Last plus one apiece from Zack Lewis, Josh Haris and Yoav Lebens guided Hendon to their third consecutive victory. Jonny Kaye claimed a consolation for newly-promoted SPEC who suffered a third straight defeat.

A late strike from top-scorer Reiss Mogilner earned a 1-1 draw against

Tom Alexander had put the east Londoners ahead with a long-range strike but Mogilner denied them a first win of the season.

Ashley Stokes (2), Craig Edwards (2), Danny Yeshua, Jamie Sinai and playermanager Gotch completed the rout.

Gotch said: “No doubt the other team will bemoan a lack of players like they all do but for the first half hour we were unplayable.”

Goals in the final 15 minutes from Jonti Aremband and David Brown earned RCUK FC a 2-2 draw against Temple Fortune.

Zach Rich (2) had put Fortune in charge, but manager Simon Linden insists “there were so many positives to take from a performance of grit and determination”.

Nick Stern praised L’Equipe “phenomenal performance” after Max Martin (3) steered them to a 5-0 victory over Andy Smith and Mark Smith also found the net.

Stern said: “FC Team gave us a good battle but everyone won their individual battles and we scored some lovely goals.”
