Popular Lesley hits bumnote

- BY CHARLOTTE OLIVER

IT MAY be chillier outside, but the

Strictly season is positively scorching. Last week, the skirts were short, the bodies ripped; and it only looks as if the temperature will be raised further, as movie week rolls around this coming Saturday.

First up on last weekend’s show was Lesley Joseph, who fondled her way around the dance-floor with a mean twinkle in her eye.

The 70-year-old actress — famed for her portrayal of the man-eating Dorien in Birds

ofaFeather —revelledinher roleasacha-chaseductress, culminating in a grab at partner Anton du B eke’ sr ear end. Judge Craig Revel-H orwood was unimpressed, observing :“I could have done without that bum rub”. That makes two of us, Craig.

The couple sailed into week three on a wave of approval from the viewers. The pair are sure to delight this Saturday, as they perform a quickstep to A Couple of

Swells from Easter Parade. Daisy Lowe and partner Aljaz Skorjanec, meanwhile, dazzled the judges with their own cha-cha set in a ’50s diner. Bruno Tonioli was suitably affected, declaring: “Daisy always serves a hot dish! Oozing natural sex appeal.”

Tomorrow will see them dancing the Viennese waltz to a Spoonful of Sugar Lesley Joseph in step with partner Anton du Beke — from temptress to Mary Poppins in a matter of days.

Once again, Judge Robert Rinder was in a class of his own, cutting more shapes with his facial contortions than Ed Balls produced in his entire dance. The criminal barrister began his segment by confirming that he is the good Jewish boy we all know him to be, after inviting his grandparents to watch him practise and earnestly telling the cameras that he hoped to make them proud.

His American smooth delighted Bruno and annoyed Craig, whose banter with Judge Rinder is pleasingly catty.

The judge and partner Oksa na will be back tomorrow dancing the Charleston to Meet the Flintstones. That’s Robert — a bit of a rock star.
