Garbacz: Camden will turn the corner soon

- BYDANNYCARO

FOOTBALL DAVID Garbacz believes it is only a matter of time until Camden Park climb the MGBSFL Premier Division after Hendon United returned to winning ways.

Zac Lewis (2) and Ari Last guided Hendon to their sixth consecutive league victory and second over Camden this season.

Hendon boss Garbacz said: “We expected a tough battle and that is exactly what we got. I’ll be amazed if Camden are in the bottom two at the end of this season as they have pushed us hard in both games.

“They deserved to be level and were then denied by the woodwork — that wasabigmomentinthematch. However, we are made of stern stuff this season —wewouldnothavewonthisgamelast year and our will to win and extra fitness were the telling factors in the end.”

Oakwood A maintained their title push with Jonny Quinn (2), Josh Rose and Jonny Blain on target in the 4-0 triumph over SPEC FC.

Oakwood co-manager Dan Kristall commented: “It was a good performance. We had a game-plan to start fast and get the early goal as we knew SPEC would try to work their way into the game.

“We defended well and the boys who came into the side to help us out deserve tremendous credit as this could have been a potential banana skin.”

Matt Stock was the hat-trick hero as North London Raiders finished the weekend in fourth position following an 8-1 demolition of Brady Maccabi.

Ben Ellis (2), Liron Mannie, David Cohen and Nyv Bogaire added the gloss, with Reiss Mogilner replying for Brady.

NLR boss Dan Shafron remarked: “I was very pleased with the performance but most importantly another three points. Brady have shown they will give all teams in this league a good game but they caught us in full flow.”
