Gesher’s temporary home

- BY ROSA DOHERTY

GESHER, THE Jewish primary special school due to open in September, has secured a temporary site in what was previously a Norwood therapy centre.

The Hope Centre building in Willesden Green, north-west London, is to house the new school while it awaits its permanent home at Sinai School.

Ali Durban, co-founder of the school, said: “Norwood have been incredibly supportive of us from the start and we’re truly touched to be offered this exciting fit-for-purpose dynamic property. People may be familiar with The Hope Therapy Centre and the specialised educational support it has provided our community’s children with.”

The centre will enable children starting the school in September to access a sensory integration area, therapy rooms, and an outdoor space.

Sinai pupils will also be able to use the centre. Ms Durban said: “It is absolutely our intention that the partnership will be of mutual benefit to both Sinai and Gesher pupils.”
