-

A CORONER has recorded a verdict of suicide on Jeffrey Hyman, the businessman who opened the original Pret A Manger sandwich shop. Mr Hyman, 67, was found dead in January at his London home. The inquest at North London Coroner’s Court heard that following a stroke, he had struggled to cope with life. He founded Pret in 1984, and later sold the business to a partnership which built it into a multi-million pound chain.
