Our thoughts are with our mechutan Cyril, daughterin-law and sister-in-law Michelle, David and Gershon on the passing of our dear Sylvia, who was an inspiratio­n to all those who knew her. She had a zest for life and was a lady of immense strength and determinat­ion, who will be greatly missed.— David and Irene and all the Shine family.

A much-loved wife, mother and grandmothe­r passed away on June 10, after bravely »PQ]RWP ûKWûN[ OX[ XþN[ !# āNK[\ She will be greatly missed and always remembered by her family and friends. Much loved by her husband Daniel, her daughters Michelle, Juliet and Bonnie and her seven grandchild­ren. She was an inspiratio­n to all who knew her.

GLASS. David. Passed away on June 3. A man of worth and true values. My thoughts and love are with my dear friend Barbara, who has taken care of him throughout this long year of his illness. May he rest in peace.— Benerdette.

GOLDMAN. Elaine. Our wonderful mum, grandma Lainey (grandma Lady) and sister sadly passed away on June 2, 2017, after a cruel illness, leaving a huge void in the hearts and lives of her family. Now at peace with our beloved dad, Myer z’l. We will always love and miss her.— Nicky and David, Jonathan and Maryanne, Amanda and Naftali, grandchild­ren Liora and Asher, Dana, Matan and Lielle, Noam, Maayan and Adi, and brother Victor.

HALFIN. Richard. On June 10, very loving and much-loved husband of Myra and father of Simon. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his daughter-in-law and grandchild­ren and by his brother, sister and their families.

KARTON. Erna. Passed away June 1, 2017, aged 95. Sadly missed by her loving daughter Marianne, her sister Julia, family and friends. May she rest in peace.

LEVITT. Cedric. His many friends at Playskill send their condolence­s to his family. As a trustee of the charity he worked tirelessly to support the parents and their children. We will miss him hugely.— Playskill Trustee Board.

LUNZER. Eda-Ruth (née Frolich). Passed away on May 26, 2017, in Jerusalem after a short illness. Greatly mourned by her husband Joseph Sunshine, her daughter Shoshanah Lunzer-Weil and family, her sons Arieh and Daniel and their families.

MENDELSSON. Steven. Our beloved husband, father and grandfathe­r sadly passed away aged 91, on June 7. He will be deeply mourned by heartbroke­n wife Hilary and children Michelle, David and Daniel. A “machalnik” and an exceptiona­l man, who will be missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

SHULNER. Rose (née Jacobs). Our beloved mother, mother-in-law and grandmothe­r left us on June 5 to join her loving husband Sol. Our mother simply lived to love her family; they were her treasure trove. Although we will not physically see her again, she will always be in our hearts and we will miss her every day.— Madeleine, Michelle, David, David, Antony and Suzy.

SIMMONS. AR[ A]KWUNā òURÞX[M President RCOG from 1990-1993, died peacefully on May 31, 2017, aged 89. Father to Louise, Peter, Emma and the late Joanna, grandfathe­r and great-grandfathe­r. Brother to Cynthia, Norman and the late Ronald.

STEEN. Phillip. Our wonderful uncle and great-uncle has gone leaving us with special memories of times spent together. Our love always.— Sheryl, Edward and Joel.

WINE. Samuel. Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 6 at St John’s Residentia­l Home, Guernsey (formerly of Hove), aged 96 years. Beloved husband of the late Madeline (née Rachkind), cherished father of Hanna and Gail and dear grandpa of Sarah and Mimi. The funeral took place in the Jewish Cemetery of Mont L’Abbé, St Helier, Jersey, on Thursday, June 8.
