GOALS FROM Steve Summers and Nate Kashket ensured Redbridge returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Camden at Fairlop. Camden boss Stirling Kay commented: “I was so proud of the boys and the way they didn’t give up and competed throughout. We just did not have enough going forwards to get us back into the game.”

DIVISION ONE FAITHFOLD A 4 OAKWOOD B 3

TWO GOALS from Chaim Bordon saw Faithfold A edge a seven-goal thriller at the Hive as they condemned Oakwood B to defeat in their opening league match. Further strikes from David Leiwy and Akiva Solomon proved decisive for Avi Markiewicz’s men. Jacob Richler Kleiman, Daniel Seligman and Ben Peppi struck for Oakwood. Faithfold playermana­ger Avi Markiewicz said: “Managing to battle through when far from our best is a good sign.” Oakwood boss Jason Stein remarked: “I’m struggling to think of a time when I’ve come away from defeat more positive than today. I’m still really mystified as to how we lost.”

LOS BLANCOS maintained their 100 per cent league record with strikes from Svi Freedman, Tim Heynes, Oli Sade and Josh Aziz. Blancos joint-manager Joel Salomon commented: “It was a strong, dominant performanc­e where the scoreline didn’t flatter us.” L’Equipe’s Nick Stern said: “Fair play to Los Blancos who are a young and keen team with a very good quick striker. We just couldn’t cope when tiredness kicked in.”

RAY ABRAHAMS praised teenage striker Zac Summerfiel­d after his fourgoal salvo steered Scrabble to their first win. Craig Edwards was also on target, with Eshed Rehav, Brett Stead and Gab Stone registerin­g for Fortune. Scrabble boss Ray Abrahams said: “It was a morning to remember for young Zac who terrorised the Fortune defence with his awesome pace.”

DIVISION TWO BAYERN MINCHA 4 REAL HENDON 1

BAYERN MINCHA laid down their title credential­s by inflicting Real’s first defeat of the league campaign. Adam Hersh put Real ahead with a lob but Bayern hit back with strikes from Adam Ellis (2), Allon David and Akiva Fink. Bayern joint-manager Daniel Holder said: “There are several areas we need to improve on in order to continue our good run against Faithfold on Sunday.” Real’s Motty Korman commented: “We were missing a few of our regulars and it showed today. Well done to Mincha who took their chances.”

AN 87TH minute penalty from Jamie Sinai earned Catford & Bromley a share of the spoils against promotion rivals Fairlop. Brad Gayer had put the title favourites ahead. Catford player-manager Jeff Gotch said: “We may have used up all of our nine lives in this one game but we’ll take it. Fairlop are a decent side, with some good players, but we battled hard and even though we were not at our best we ground out a point.” Fairlop manager Aaron Dias remarked: “If Catford are going to be our closest challenger for the title, they may as well give us the trophy now.”

FC TEAM 4 HERTSWOOD VALE 2

TWO GOALS from Mitch Young, including a stunning 25-yard free-kick, helped FC Team secured their first league success of the season after beating Hertswood. Richard Salmon and Jon Breger completed the scoring. FC Team player-manager Mitch Young commented: “We were awful in the first half so I changed the formation in the second half and we were soon in total control.” Edan Dodi scored twice for Hertswood.

NL RAIDERS C 1 MILL HILL DONS 5

A HAT-TRICK from Zach Cohen guided Mill Hill Dons to their third win in four matches as they outclassed Raiders C. Adam Lisberg and Harry Moss completed the scoring and boss Brandon Hamme said: “To go away to Wembley and come back with three points is what dreams are made of. When at our best the sky is the limit for us and we can go into every game knowing we have a chance.” Alex Sherr fired a consolatio­n for Raiders.

STRAW HAT PIRATES 3 TEMPLE FORTUNE B 1

STRAW HAT Pirates sealed their first victory since joining the MGSBFL after putting Temple Fortune B to the sword. Ben Mandell (2) and Aron Gale were the marksmen, with Adam Blin replying for Fortune. Pirates boss Elliot Cukier said: “It has been coming for a while, and no one can dispute that.” Jointmanag­er Steven Black admitted Fortune “never really got going and failed to impose ourselves on the game”.
