- BY JC REPORTER

FOOTBALL Maccabi GB have confirmed their latest appointments ahead of next year’s European Maccabi Games (EMG) in Budapest.

Dan Reuben and Danny Schindler will oversee the challenge of the Football squads as joint-chairmen.

Reuben has spent the last 24 years at Maccabi London Lions, following spells at Kinnor, Brady Maccabi and Wingate & Finchley. He has represented MGB at seven international games, winning five medals in the process. He said: “Danny and I are excited to be working with terrific managers and coaches to ensure we give the athletes as close to a professional set-up as possible.”

Scott Warren will manage the U16 Futsal squad. He will be assisted by Jamie Nagioff and remarked: “I can’t wait for all the fun to begin.” Warren described the Dan Reuben and Danny Schindler experience of representing MGB and British Jewry as “something extremely special”.

Scott Ansher will oversee the Junior Girls football squad, working closely with assistant-manager Jessica Tray and coach Manisha Tailor MBE. Tailor currently works on a part-time basis at the QPR academy, under former Premier League manager Chris Ramsey. She has spent 16 years in grassroots football in her capacity as a teacher and works directly in schools and clubs to help engage young people in sport.

She also works closely with former Arsenal Ladies and England International Rachel Yankey, implementing a learning programme with Wembley Learning Zone. Tailor received an MBE for services to football and diversity in sport last year.

Tailor said: “I’m looking forward to working with the players to help prepare them for next year’s EMG.

Being part of the Maccabiah journey last year was an invaluable learning experience for me as a coach. I’m eager to utilise this with the girls’ squad in developing them as footballers, but most importantly as people, as we represent our country.”
