Making everything in the garden lovely for Norwood

WHEN NORWOOD contractor Light Fantastic decided to give something back to the community, the children and families charity benefited.

For three days, volunteers from the event production company transformed the outdoor space at Somers Court, Norwood’s supported living service in Edgware, into a “bright and inspiring” garden for residents.

Features include a shaded gazebo area, a brick barbecue, wheelchairfriendly gravel paths, a sensory rock

display and an archway entrance.

The firm covered the full cost of materials, making the project worth more than £40,000. It is hoped the revamped space will encourage residents to spend more time outdoors.

Volunteers and residents road-tested the new facilities at a launch party.

“We can’t thank the Light Fantastic team enough,” said Vicky Weir, operational manager at Somers Court.

“They have created a garden space designed to stimulate and engage all the senses.”

Light Fantastic’s Rob Myer said it had been “a brilliant opportunity for everyone to work together in creating something very substantial which will hopefully be enjoyed by Norwood’s clients for many years to come”.
