Purchasers set their sights on idyllic views
THE DESIGNS of the 19th Century Arts & Crafts Movement are echoed in Hampstead Reach, a new development on Chandos Way, in London’s Hampstead Garden Suburb. The six houses and 39 apartments stand in a private courtyard with water features and are built by Barratt London. They are being marketed by Glentree New Homes.
All the materials and details used reference the Arts & Crafts principles of simple forms and truth to materials and nature. A fountain in the residents’ garden gives an air of tranquillity.
The buildings are arranged to seem random and unordered, to reflect the organic growth and development of many villages and market towns.
The configuration of rooms and the layout of windows are aimed at maximising sunshine and natural daylight.
The Arts & Crafts influence continues in the hardwood doors and Amtico tiled flooring. Rooms have generous proportions and kitchens are fitted with high-end Grohe and Miele appliances. Other benefits include comfort cooling throughout, underfloor heating and — in selected apartments — balconies or private gardens.
In addition there is a 12-hour concierge, underground parking, CCTV, cycle storage and an impressive hotelstyle lobby.
Karen Morris, head of new homes at Glentree Estates, says the style of Chandos enables it to “blend seamlessly into the style of the Hampstead Garden Suburb”.
Prices start at £995,000 and 80 per cent of the homes have already been sold.
Golders Green tube is within easy reach, as are Hampstead golf course and Hampstead Heath.
The Heath is one of the highest points in London, with views across London. Househunters love a view — and it is better still if they do not have to sacrifice commuting convenience to get one. Luxury housebuilder Bellis Homes is appealing to this market with its just-launched high-spec development in Hampstead — contemporary apartments at Four5Two, where the rear balconies have show-stopping views of the heath.
Four5Two is a 10-minute walk from Golders Green tube and has private underground parking for residents’ vehicles. The living areas offer a large space for socialising and relaxing and layouts are designed to maximise natural light — which is enhanced with bespoke lighting for each apartment and LED lighting at plinth level in the hallways.
The 13 apartments are priced from £1.1 million to £2.2 million and are available off-plan from Glentree and Knight Frank. In the Ridgeway, one of the leafiest parts of Mill Hill, north west London, Glentree is selling Rosary Manor. This is a converted period property retaining many original features. The 11 apartments, with balconies or terraces, are approached via private gates. Completion is due in the autumn.
The development stands in 2.5 acres of landscaped gardens, with a summer house for residents’ exclusive use and uninterrupted views over Mill Hill Valley. There is secure parking and an on-site groundsman/concierge. Prices start at £1.7 million.
Also in green surroundings in Mill Hill is Eleven Trees, on Milespit Hill. The three newly-built detached houses here are on four floors and each includes a gym, games room, cinema room and hydro pool; a kitchen/breakfast room, formal reception and dining room and five en-suite bedrooms. One property even has a lift. Each home has a distinctively different design and includes a large elevated terrace leading to a private garden.
Guide price is £4.5 million. Agents are Glentree and Statons.
At Asprey Park, Hendon, a limited number of three-bedroom flats is still available, one of which has a private garden. The apartments come with secure underground parking.
Prices start at £635,000. Joint selling agents are Glentree and Preston Bennett.
