This Rosh Hashanah, help bring new hope to families like Chava’s.

The Jewish Chronicle - - JNF -

The day Social Services came to take away her four children was the worst day of Chava’s life. She was divorced, back living with her poverty-stricken mother in a house that had become dangerously dilapidated. A blockage in the drainage system caused rancid water to leak into the bathroom resulting in toxic mould spreading throughout the home. In those circumstances, Social Services felt they had no choice but to remove the children. Chava was contacted by JNF UK’s project Building Hope who sent in tradesmen to fix the problems in the home. In parallel, social workers supported Chava, helping her secure suitable employment and enhance her parenting skills. The children have now been granted weekend visits with the prospect of a permanent return in the near future. JNF UK is bringing this life-changing programme to hundreds more families in the Negev towns of Kiryat Gat and Kiryat Malachi, where unfortunately many people live below the poverty line. This work will be carried out alongside a host of other targeted JNF UK projects aimed at creating a lasting difference. JNF UK believes that in order to strengthen Israel and instil lasting change, nobody should be left behind.
