Southend supporters are in the money for MDA

-

SOUTHEND AND Westcliff supporters of Magen David Adom have almost reached their £30,000 target for a blood room in the new MDA campus in Ramla — and well ahead of schedule. The news was relayed to an audience of 120 at a meeting addressed by Mosab Hassan Yousef, son of a Hamas leader who worked undercover for the Israeli security service, Shin Bet. cope with current demand. The system needs reform.

“Reform was promised in the March 2017 Budget in the shape of a green paper on social care. This was promised again in this Budget. We will do all we can to ensure our voice is heard over the coming months to influence the outcome of this green paper.”

At The Fed, Manchester Jewry’s major welfare charity, CEO Mark Cunningham said: “It is clear that much of the funding won’t scratch the surface. The key to dealing with the pressures in the health care system is having a properly funded social care system.

“While hospitals are full, there are care home providers who could offer alternatives at a competitive price and in an innovative way. Typically, one night in hospital costs the same as a week in a residential care home.”

He added: “Our challenge remains not only a fair fee but recruitment. It would have been good to see the government reinstate the bursary for trainee nurses to begin to address the national shortage.”
