Friendship extended with £150k fundraiser
THE FRIENDSHIP Circle, a Manchester charity supporting Jews with physical and learning disabilities, raised £150,000 from a fundraising night attended by more than 400 people.
Held at the Piccadilly Mercure Hotel, its theme was “I am me”, celebrating individuality.
Speakers included Michael Levy, parent of a Friendship Circle member, volunteer Deborah Radnor and Hannah Mendell, 27, a Friendship Circle member. The latter received a standing ovation for an emotional address. Funds raised will enable the charity to expand its programmes. Its director, Mimi Lyons, said she felt blessed to work for an organisation that “benefits the lives of both our members and volunteers”.
