Brighton pushes ahead with free-school plan
MEMBERS OF Brighton’s Jewish community have agreed to push forward with plans to open a Jewish primary school in the city following a public meeting last month.
A project team of 15 people has been set up to explore the practicalities of the idea after overwhelming support for pursuing it was expressed at the meeting.
The proposal was first aired around 15 months ago by a small group that believes a school could help bring new families to the south coast.
They point to the success of Mosaic, the South London free school, as a model for Brighton.
