BRITISH EMUNAH has gone to school for its new executive director, Lynda Dullop, director of admissions and operations at Immanuel College in Bushey. She will replace Deborah Nathan, who is leaving to take up a post with World Emunah in Israel.

Mrs Dullop will join the charity in March with the responsibility of raising funds to support 37 Emunah projects across Israel for at-risk or disadvantaged children and families.

“It is a fantastic opportunity,” she said. “Emunah is a charity that touches people’s hearts.

“I’ve been at Immanuel for 11 years — it’s in my DNA. I started as a parent, became chairman of the PTA, then a governor and a staff member. I couldn’t have left unless I found something that I could feel equally passionate about and Emunah ticks all of the boxes.”

In advance of starting her job, she will join British Emunah’s mission to Israel at the end of January.

“This will be my first time visiting the projects, although my own children visited Emunah Afula on Immanuel College’s Israel trip and it had quite an impact on them.

“It will be good to begin to truly understand the tragedy and the trauma that many of these children have endured and how Emunah helps and improves their lives, often 24/7.”

The Radlett Synagogue member was born in Newcastle and in 1984 came to London, where she met her husband Graham. They lived in South London, where Mrs Dullop was on the Catford and Bromley Synagogue board of management and ran the cheder and a toddlers’ group.

She has worked in personnel management and was area manager for a recruitment company.

British Emunah chair Rosalyn Liss said the charity had recruited “a highly respected professional with a wealth of experience of working in our Jewish community and with a passion for Israel”.

The charity supports 10,000 children and families in Israel through a network of more than 200 social welfare projects involving schools, children’s homes, day care, counselling, therapy and intervention centres.
