Probe after baby dies in bath tub

- BY BEN WEICH

ISRAELI POLICE are investigating whether a British mother was checking Facebook at the time her baby girl drowned in a bath.

Naomi Lynton, aged six months, died in Tel Aviv in July after slipping underwater and losing consciousness, the Mirror reported.

Her mother, Kayla Lynton, 23, was held by Israeli police, who reportedly seized her mobile phone as part of an investigation into Naomi’s death.

It was initially believed she had left the baby to go to the toilet, but it has been revealed police are now investigating claims of neglect.

Mrs Lynton and her husband, Ilan Lynton, a recruitment specialist from Shoreditch, East London, moved to Israel more than five years ago. It is understood they are now separated.

They have another daughter, two-yearold Elizabeth.

Her lawyer, Ofer Bartal, told the Mirror: “Kayla does not know what to do with herself. After she saw Naomi was unconscious she tried to resuscitate her and she called the emergency workers and police.

“Police are investigating many directions. I don’t know what they really think.”
