FOOT­BALL Lee Cash, Paul Hakim and Michael Pear­son fired tre­bles as Li­ons Vets re­turned from the win­ter break in style, hit­ting dou­ble fig­ures against Turk­ish Masters.

Fol­low­ing a four-week break with no foot­ball, there were no signs of rusti­ness from the Li­ons, who were sharper all over the pitch.

Hav­ing pro­duced a se­ries of fine saves, the Turk­ish goal­keeper was fi­nally beaten from the edge of the penalty area by a drilled shot from Pear­son. Hakim dou­bled the lead, with Cash head­ing home the third goal.

Hakim scored the goal of the game on the stroke of half-time, with the ball whistling into the top corner from 30 yards.

Li­ons con­tin­ued to surge for­ward in the sec­ond half and Hakim was the first to com­plete (right) his hat-trick, be­fore Jon Rayner and Cash com­bined well to give Pear­son a tap-in. His tre­ble fol­lowed min­utes later fol­low­ing a pre­ci­sion through ball from Daniel Stan­ton.

Cash added the eighth be­fore a spec­tac­u­lar long-range effort from Craig Pearl curled into the top corner. Cash com­pleted his hat-trick in the clos­ing stages, fol­low­ing a great run and cross by Rayner, as the Li­ons reg­is­tered dou­ble fig­ures for the fourth time this sea­son.
