Clinical Lions register another perfect ten
GARSTON VETS LEAGUE
FOOTBALL Lee Cash, Paul Hakim and Michael Pearson fired trebles as Lions Vets returned from the winter break in style, hitting double figures against Turkish Masters.
Following a four-week break with no football, there were no signs of rustiness from the Lions, who were sharper all over the pitch.
Having produced a series of fine saves, the Turkish goalkeeper was finally beaten from the edge of the penalty area by a drilled shot from Pearson. Hakim doubled the lead, with Cash heading home the third goal.
Hakim scored the goal of the game on the stroke of half-time, with the ball whistling into the top corner from 30 yards.
Lions continued to surge forward in the second half and Hakim was the first to complete (right) his hat-trick, before Jon Rayner and Cash combined well to give Pearson a tap-in. His treble followed minutes later following a precision through ball from Daniel Stanton.
Cash added the eighth before a spectacular long-range effort from Craig Pearl curled into the top corner. Cash completed his hat-trick in the closing stages, following a great run and cross by Rayner, as the Lions registered double figures for the fourth time this season.
