Briefs encounter inside Marks and Sparks

A funny thing happened on the way out of the M & S fitting room.

A young Chasid, in long coat and black hat, walked past me with a packet of white underpants.

“We don’t normally let people try these on,” said the bemused attendant.

“They let me try them on over my trousers yesterday,” the Chasid replied.

If I’d been a graphic artist, I would have found the model for a new superhero.
