Active support for good causes

-

SINCE ITS launch in 2007, the Maccabi GB Community Fun Run has grown to be one of the largest Jewish events in the UK. In the past 12 years, more than 28,000 members of the community have run, hopped, skipped and jumped around the course to raise money for for communal organisations.

In 2018, the run involved more than 6,500 people. Welcoming 78 Jewish charities and schools, it brought together all corners of the Jewish community at the world-class Allianz Park Stadium.

The run is truly crosscommunal and inclusive. The 1km, 5km or 10km distances are for everyone, regardless of level of Jewish observance, ability or disability and age, meaning there is a run for everyone.

As well as the run itself, the charity fair, family fun zone and food court allow members of the community to be involved and celebrate with their loved ones while taking in the lively atmosphere.

This year, says Maccabi “an exciting new ‘colour run’ element will enhance the unique spirit of the day and will give runners the opportunity to add to their experience”.

An important component of the Maccabi GB Community Fun Run is On track to raise money for charity, at the Maccabi GB Community Fun Run — choose from 1K, 5K or 10K fundraising for Jewish causes. Many charities rely on the event to bring in funds.

Since the run’s inception, £2 million has been raised and the sum achieved grows every year. This year, the event looks forward to welcoming even more people to enjoy a family day out while raising money for charity.
