Safety skills for school, uni and beyond
CST WORKS to give our young people the skills to lead confident and safe lives as British Jews. It is there for young Jews throughout school, university and as they enter working life.
CST FOR YOUTH
Streetwise is CST’s joint project with Maccabi GB. Streetwise delivers a broad range of educational sessions in more than 65 Jewish and non-Jewish schools, youth organisations and leadership programmes across the UK. Streetwise sessions can cover topics such as personal safety, internet safety, relationships and sex education, leadership, antisemitism education, Krav Maga and self-defence training.
CST also offers university campus preparation sessions for sixth formers.
For more information about Streetwise or to arrange a session at your school or youth group, contact Streetwise on 020 8457 2331 or go to streetwisegb.org.
CST FOR STUDENTS
CST helps protect Jewish students on campuses across the UK. Its full-time staff support those affected by antisemitism on campus and also manage student volunteer recruitment and training. Students who train as CST volunteer security officers help ensure the safety and well-being of friends and colleagues on campus and at Jewish student events. As part of the training and as CST volunteers, students develop invaluable leadership, communication and critical thinking skills. Weekly training is offered at campuses across the UK in term time and students are also welcome to join CST’s shorter, more intensive training sessions in London. All training is free. For more information about CST on campus, email students@ cst.org.uk or go to cst.org.uk.
YOUNG PROFESSIONALS
CST welcomes all Jewish young professionals to apply to train as volunteer security officers. Getting involved with CST provides fantastic opportunities to make new friends and connections and develop invaluable leadership, communication and critical thinking skills. Weekly training is offered at venues across the UK and young professionals are also welcome to join CST’s shorter, more intense training sessions based in London.
Once qualified, CST supports all of its volunteers to keep fit and maintain or improve their physical strength and practical security skills, by offering various extra classes and training sessions every week.
Volunteers are also encouraged to use CST’s well-equipped fitness suites in its Manchester and London headquarters for work-out sessions whenever suits them. All of this is free.
