Maduro rival appoints Jewish ambassador
Juan Guaido, who declared himself Venezuela’s interim leader in opposition to President Nicolás Maduro last month, has appointed a former member of the Latin American Jewish Congress as his diplomatic representative in Argentina.
Elisa Trotta Gamus, 36, was referred to as “ambassador” during a meeting with the Israeli envoy to Buenos Aires earlier this week, JTA reported.
Ms Trotta Gamus is a native Venezuelan who has been living in Argentina since 2011.
