Antisemitism fuels New York rise in hate

-

Hate crimes in New York City rose 72 per cent in the first six weeks of this year, fueled by a spike in antisemitic crimes.

The New York Times reported acts of hatred against Jews accounted for almost two-thirds of the 36 crimes reported so far in 2019.

In the most recent incident, an object was thrown through the window of a Chabad synagogue in Bushwick, Brooklyn, early on Saturday morning. The window was shattered but no one was hurt, police said.
