RABBI ALEX Goldberg, who has just passed his rabbinic qualifying exams, recently enjoyed a day on the set of Sir Ridley Scott’s upcoming film

It is about the Dutch folk hero Hans van Meegeren who conned the Nazis by selling them Vermeer forgeries. The Surrey University Jewish chaplain was on hand to advise on a Shabbat scene, not only making sure the ritual elements looked authentic; he pointed out that cous-cous was unlikely to be served in a Friday night dinner in 1951.
