Wanted: words and voices
WORLD Jewish Relief and Jewish Book Week are looking for a letter or similar text that “best encapsulates the authentic Jewish voice” for the Jewish Voices event on the last day of Jewish Book Week 2019.
Jewish Voices will bring together a range of performers — Henry Goodman, Nicholas Hytner, Emily Maitlis, Zoe Wanamaker and many more — to read “emotive letters, speeches, communications” etc in celebration of the enduring power of Jewish words. The two organisations now need and are asking people to submit their favourite example(s). It can be a letter — private or perhaps to the Times — joke, song lyric or passage from literature.
The winning piece will be read out by one of the notable performers on the night.
To send in your favourite example of a Jewish voice, email Rafi Cooper, by March 5, at World Jewish Relief: rafi@worldjewishrelief.org
