Fun in the run-up

- BY GILAH SAMUELS

OVER THE Pesach holidays, families get to spend quality time with each other — so Maccabi GB is encouraging everyone to make the most of this opportunity to get active and prepare for June’s Community Fun Run. Head to the park with your little ones and get ready for the 1K family favourite, or work off the matzah with your friends and challenge yourself for the 5K or 10K. If you are looking for something extra special, Maccabi promises to “add some colour to your charity fundraising with the addition of the new colour run” (more details soon).

Since its launch in 2007, the Maccabi GB Community Fun Run has grown to be the largest Jewish event in the UK. In the past 12 years, more than 28,000 members of the community have run, hopped, skipped, jumped and raised a total of £2 million for communal organisations. In 2018, the run engaged more than 6,500 people. Welcoming 78 Jewish charities and schools, it has brought together all corners of the Jewish community at the world-class Allianz Park Stadium.

The event is truly cross-communal and inclusive. The 1K, 5K and 10K distances are for everyone, regardless of level of Jewish observance, ability or disability and age. The charity fair, family fun zone and food court offer extra ways for those supporting the runners to get involved. Grab your trainers and get active this Pesach — then join Maccabi GB at Allianz Park on Sunday June 23 and raise funds for communal causes. Sign up at communityfunrun.org
