Top Jewish writers pass away after long illnesses
THE WORLD of contemporary literature has been hit over the past few days by the death of two prominent, British-based Jewish writers. Turkishborn novelist, poet and screen-playwriter Moris (Musa) Farhi died this week, aged 84, in his adopted home town of Brighton; and Irish-Jewish writer Stanley Price passed away a few days earlier, both after long illnesses. Mr Farhi was well-known for his two prize-winning works, Children of the Rainbow and Young Turk. Mr Price’s writing included an acclaimed memoir, Somewhere to Hang My Hat. He was 87.
