Reich hold upper hand

-

FOOTBALL LEEDS Maccabi’s double hopes hang in the balance after their first-leg 3-1 defeat to Reich in Blackley.

A great performance from the hosts means they will take a two-goal lead over the Pennines with one foot in the Shonn Cup final.

Alex Elf had given Leeds the lead but a tremendous second half saw strikes from Michael Silverstone (2) and Dovi Klyne give Reich the upper hand.

The Yellows earned Maccabi Manchester bragging rights after beating the Masters 7-4.

Oli Grant (2), Jack Van Gelder (2), Rafi Dines, Rafi Newman and Rick Buxton registered for the Yellows in a game they led 3-1 at half-time.

Moishe Hasid (2), Darren Cohen and Jason Linz replied for the Masters.

The Yellows remain in contention for the title. They must win their last two matches and hope Leeds slip up in one of their three remaining games.
