‘It’s all to play for,’ says Bronzite
DIVISION TWO
Richard Bronzite praised his Redbridge team for showing their true colours as they kept alive their title hopes with an eight-goal demolition of promotion rivals SPEC in Bushey. Experienced defender Adam Klein was signed three days before the game and his quality helped keep SPEC top-scorer Zack Neiman quiet in a match played in blustery conditions. Craig Sandford (3) and left-winger Lee Cutler (3) took centre stage, with some accomplished finishing on a day when SPEC finished second best, with Adam Shafron and Frank Branch completing the rout. RJC boss Bronzite expressed “delight” with the result and performance. He revealed: “Six days before the game I thought we would have to forfeit the game due to a shortage of players. Fortunately we managed to register some new players to ensure the game went ahead, so to come away with maximum points is massive for us. We controlled the game from start to finish. The boys can be proud of themselves as this was a real team effort.” But he warned: “The boys deserve all the credit, but one win doesn’t mean anything. We have three games remaining and must show similar qualities as there’s still a lot of football to be played.” SPEC player-manager Ricky Lawrence admitted: “Redbridge were better in every department.”
