It all kicks off for care residents

-

SIX RESIDENTS from Jewish Care’s Brighton home, Hyman Fine House, enjoyed a VIP view of the climax to the Premier League title race at the Amex Stadium on Sunday.

Guests of Brighton chairman Tony Bloom, the residents, plus family members and care staff, watched Manchester City’s 4-1 victory which clinched the trophy.

Among the residents was Alan Bass, 85, a long-time Brighton fan, although the Londoner supported Arsenal in his youth.

“It was a really special day,” he said afterwards, “as I didn’t think I’d ever be able to see another football game together with my son, Paul. In fact, all three of my boys are big Brighton fans.

“It was also incredible to see the trophy presentation — even if it wasn’t for the right team.”

Hyman Fine manager Natasha Carson said that when she had requested tickets, she had chosen Brighton’s final home game purely on the basis of “ensuring we’d have good weather. We couldn’t have been luckier.

“Quite a few of the residents and staff had never been to a match before so it was very exciting. We definitely gained a few new fans and would like to say a huge thank you to Tony Bloom for inviting us and to the Bloom Foundation for its continued support of Hyman Fine.”
