Lustigman and Caplin pushing for gold again

FUTSAL ADAM Lustigman is confident Maccabi GB’s U18 boys’ futsal squad can retain their title at the forthcoming European Maccabi Games in Hungary.

Lustigman, who led MGB to gold at the 2015 EMG in Berlin, has been putting the finishing touches to preparations together with jointmanager Phil Caplin.

The squad has been training for several months, as well as playing friendly matches, and Lustigman says they cannot wait to get started.

“We have extremely talented players, some with invaluable international Games experience, and there is an interesting mix of characters both on and off the court. We know the countries that will provide the biggest challenges at the Games but the squad will be mentally, physically and tactically prepared. As reigning European U18 champions we are confident of further success.”

Caplin said: “Adam and I will use our past experiences to relay to players and parents the pride of representing MGB at an international event, both on the playing front and cultural aspects as well. Spending pre-camp together is a time to reflect on our Jewish identity as well as further our team bonding before the competition begins.”

SQUAD: Toby Anthony, Harry Caplin, Josh Davidson, Sammy Garcia, Joey Gold, Eytan Millan, Josh Morris, Brandon Myers, Max Schulberg, Raphy Simons.

Managers: Phil Caplin, Adam Lustigman, Coach: Tamas Gynei
